Leaf and Twig Box with Pearl
Tower Park was lovely. The weatherman called for cool and breezy with rain. but we got lovely warm sunshine. It was perfect weather for the fair and also for the race for the cure. I so enjoyed meeting new people and seeing friendly faces from last year as well. It certainly is gratifying to see people wearing my work.
I did indeed finish this lovely Leaf and Twig Box with Pearl pendant and am very pleased with it.
The UPS delivery person just left a package on the doorstep with metal clay. I was pretty much out of metal clay so I am ever so happy to see the package!

I am finishing up my preparations for the Peoria Heights Art Fair this Saturday. The pendant pictured above is unfired and almost ready to go into the kiln. It gets to take that trip solo as I already fired a whole batch of other things two days ago when this piece was just two leafy pieces. The hole with the wire jutting up through it is going to be the seat of a lovely pearl. This piece sees my metal clay stash diminished to about 5 grams. I made the bail and its stem from clay that had been cut away from other projects and saved. I keep this package of clay that is labeled “used” and if I need something that is textured but not a lot else is done with it then it usually works just the same as brand new clay.
I suspect this box will be ready late enough at night that I might not be able to show you pictures before tomorrow morning. I hope to see some of you tomorrow at Tower Park. Keep your fingers crossed for weather like we are having right now!
Tomorrow is the Peoria Heights Art Fair from 9am to 5pm at Tower Park. I have put together quite an array of fine silver jewelry to show at the fair so please stop by. I was very pleased with how this necklace came together. The wedge shaped box took on a fantastic patina and if I do say so myself is quite well complimented by the small leaf drop and sparkly stone. The reverse side of the box element has a slightly different texture (shown in the second picture). I also finished some viking knit bracelets with neat end caps that I designed yesterday. Pictures of those have to wait as I am flagging now. See you all tomorrow!
I am all a flurry getting ready for the Peoria Heights Art Fair which is coming up this Saturday at Tower Park. I am madly finishing up lots of items and beginning a group of viking knit bracelets right now. I made a group of these last summer and since they were quite popular so it’s time for more. Also, the viking knit is more portable than my other process which makes it amenable to squeezing in a little jewelry making outside. No time to waste now! Saturday is rushing forward at break neck pace. Hope to see you at Tower Park!
I just finished this pendant in celebration of spring time. By the way I also saw this fantastic billboard for the Peoria Heights Art Fair on University yesterday. I thought how cool is that. A billboard advertisement for an art fair I am going to be at as an artist!
I finished some sets of earrings tonight. The nicest of the bunch is this pair of heart stud earrings with pearls. These coordinate perfectly with one of the heart box pendants you may remember. Same leafy texture and multicolor patina. My husband is figuring out the new camera as I type this so for now I just used the old one rather than decipher where all the proper settings are on the new one. Still riding a high about Peoria Heights Art Fair. It is not very far from now. May 8th. More details on my upcoming shows page.
I just came home, opened the mail and found my acceptance letter for the Peoria Heights Art Fair (May 8th) which will be held at tower park and along the city streets nearby. I am quite excited about this fair!
I have been busy making some trinkets, mostly heart shaped earrings with pearls in. The new camera we just ordered also arrived today so as soon as I read this stuff about how to use the camera… I will get you some shots of these lovely earrings.
